Winter Parks own Ryan St. Onge 4th at 2010 Olympics

Byron Hetzler- US PresswireOlympic aerial freestyle skier Ryan St. Onge just missed medal contention, placing fourth in the aerial competition on Thursday at Cypress Mountain.

Claiming Winter Park as his home-base, St. Onge was pushed out of the medal-standings by Liu Zhongquing of China, who placed third for the bronze, U.S. teammate Jeret Peterson who took the silver, and Aleksei Grishin of Belarus, placing gold.

The competition involved the combined score of two 50-plus high jumps, with judges analyzing the tricks in the air and applying 30 percent of the score to the landing.

St. Onge's first jump landed him 115.27 points, putting him into 8th place. His second jump was a more difficult “back double full-full-full,” that scored 124.66, moving him into first place.
